THE OUTREACH BENEFITS SERVICE FOR CARERS

Set up in 2002 with funding from the Community Fund, the Outreach Benefits Service covers the whole of Teignbridge. It is a home visiting service for Carers to help identify and claim any benefits to which they may be entitled. We provide information, advice, advocacy and support to claimants, assisting them to maximize benefit income. We help claimants to complete the appropriate benefit applications, assist with review forms, reconsideration requests, supersessions and appeals. We can represent and support people at Tribunals and where Benefits Doctors visits are required.

The service has helped over 1000 people in Teignbridge by dealing with benefit enquiries, claims, housing, debt, paying for care and general enquiries. During the past 7 years over £5m has been claimed by Carers supported by this organisation, benefiting both the individuals and the local economy.

Please note that there is no charge for this service, we rely on external funding and voluntary donations to cover our costs.

The office is manned Monday - Friday 9am-5pm except when staff are out on visits. If you leave your name and number on our answerphone we will get back to you as soon as we can.
