You Can Make a Difference!

Volunteering is something that anyone can do, whatever your interests, whether you are young or old, male or female, employed or unemployed, disabled or able-bodied. There is experience and confidence to be gained through volunteering, as well as the opportunity to receive training and learn new skills. We can offer advice and support and a wide range of volunteering opportunities. To view our current list of local opportunities, click here. It will open in a new window.

We are now recruiting volunteers to help deliver the services of our Outreach Benefits Service for Carers, to visit clients and help them to complete benefit forms. Volunteers will receive full training, support, and travel expenses. This is an exciting opportunity to gain training and experience in advice and welfare benefits. Hours would be by arrangement, but there is an expectation that volunteers would provide the service with approx. 6 hours per week of support time after induction and training. If you are interested in this opportunity please call the Bureau Manager on 01626 889288 for an informal discussion.

We also need volunteers for our flourishing Community Support Scheme, which provides support for those who experience difficulties with day-to-day living because of their limited mobility, frailty and/or sensory problems. The type of help provided includes accompanying people on shopping trips and to leisure facilities, gardening, assistance with studies for a degree course, befriending visits, and assistance with re-ablement. Our volunteers' input makes a significant difference to the lives of those concerned.

If you have some time to spare, please contact our Volunteer Co-ordinator on 01626 888321

East Teignbridge Community Transport Association, a registered Charity (no. 1060175) is now based in the Barton car park, Dawlish. It desperately needs more volunteer drivers to enable it to provide transport services for frail, elderly or disabled persons, and community groups, in its fleet of vehicles. If you can help, please call our Co-ordinator on 01626 888321 for more information.
